Overview: Exporting

In eCapture, exports can be created for completed Processing Jobs (PJ) or Data Extract Jobs (DEJ). Multiple export options are available for producing image and database load files. You may select the system, flag, metadata, and user-defined fields for endorsement in six different zones. The export options vary to some degree depending on the type of Job being exported. For more information about Export Jobs, see:

Both of these Export Jobs are distributed throughout the export process.

Also, both of these Export Jobs can use two additional export features: Export Series and Export Sets.

The export overlay function can be used to create new load files for completed Export Jobs. For more information, see Create an Overlay for a Single Export Job or Create an Overlay for an Export Series.

In addition, you can create a carbon copy of an existing export, which allows you to replicate the settings, documents, and numbering used in the initial export. For more information, see Create a Carbon-Copy Export.

Note: The Enterprise Code Name is used to organize one or more product-specific Cases (Projects) under a single Enterprise-level case. It can also be used to provide an alias to the actual case name. The Case (Project) must be assigned to the same Enterprise Code Name in all Enterprise products when moving data between them.

Export Series

An Export Series allows multiple jobs to be queued for export and assigned to the Export Series. Export Series allow for the output of successive, unattended rolling exports with sequential image key numbering and volumes.

The Export Series can be created before beginning an export or at the beginning of the Export Session. If the Export Series is already set up, then you can optionally select the series to which you want to apply the Job.

Export Sets

Export Sets allow documents in a set to be sorted in specific order and an Export Set created for the sorted document set. Export Sets can be applied to an Export Series. An Export Set is always created by a QC Processing Job Session or a QC Data Extract Job Session.

Export Context Menu Options

In the Client Management TreeView, when you right-click an Export folder or Job, a context menu displays with options relevant to the selected item. Context menu options change depending on the item chosen. These options are described in the following table:

Option

DESCRIPTION

Export Processed/Extracted Data

This option displays when you right-click a completed Processing Job or Data Extract job. Select this option to export the data from the selected Job.

New Processing/Data Extract Export Job

Select this option to create a new Processing Export Job or Data Extract Export Job. A dialog box displays that allows you to select which Data Extract Job(s) or Processing job(s) you would like to export.

New Processing/Data Extract Export Series

Select this option to create a new Processing Export Series or Data Extract Export Series. For more information about Export Series, see Export Series.

New Processing/Data Extract Export Job in Series

Select this option to create a new Processing Export Job or Data Extract Export Job, and to add that Job to an existing Export Series.

Rename Export Job/Series

This option opens a dialog box in which you can rename the selected Job or Export Series.

Refresh Export Series

Select this option to display any Jobs added to or deleted from the Export Series since the last refresh.

Delete Export Job/Series

Select this option to delete the selected Export Job or Export Series and remove it from the Tree View.

Create Overlay

This option creates an Export Overlay Job. The overlay functionality is used to apply new or modified metadata fields onto an existing data set. The overlay functionality modifies the load files that were selected for the original Export Job. For more information, see Create an Overlay for a Single Export Job.

Create Series Overlay

This option creates an overlay at the export-series level. The overlay functionality is used to apply new or modified metadata fields onto an existing data set. The overlay functionality modifies the load files that were selected for the original Export Series. All Export Jobs in the series reflect the overlay, however, you have the option to exclude specific Export Jobs as well. For more information, see Create an Overlay for an Export Series.

Create Carbon-Copy Export

Select this option to create an exact copy of an existing Export Job, which maintains the same documents, numbering, and export settings. For more information, see Create a Carbon-Copy Export.

Reporting

You can run various reports on Export Jobs that provide further information about the export. For information about the different reports, see Overview: Reports.

Re-Export Errors

This option allows you to re-export only error files and their families from a previous Export Job. This function applies to Processing Export Jobs, Data Extract Export Jobs, and Streaming Discovery Export Jobs. However, this option is not available on Overlays and/or other Error exports.
